If your audience is too large or if you simply want to narrow the focus of your survey, you can generate a sample. A
sample provides a representative selection of respondents that should reflect the view of the entire audience.
Sampling uses a simple example-based interface that supports numerous criteria. The sample can be created
using the following methods:
| Sample Method |
Description |
All respondents are selected for distribution. |
Respondents are selected by a random number generator. |
Respondents are selected at a defined (x) interval (e.g. Every 12th record). |
Respondents are sorted into defined categories (e.g. based on State, Department, etc.) and then proportional number is selected randomly from each category. |
Respondents are randomly selected from a predefined category or series of categories only (e.g. People in the state of California only or people in the Accounting Department only). |
