Job Task Analysis
The Job Task Analysis (JTA) process is the mostly widely regarded and accepted method for determining valid job requirements (including physical
capacity and medical standards) for any job under consideration.
The JTA process is designed to meet all validity requirements for the Equal Employment Opportunty, Affirmative Action, and Americans with
Disabilities Act. It is the foundation for developing and maintaining defensible job testing, and performance requirements.
The JTA is also the most reliable method for building demonstrably job-related training curricula. Basing job training on JTA content insures your
training also meets EEOC/ADA requirements for content validity.
Where constructing training is the primary objective, the DACUM (Develop a Curriculum) JTA model provides for a significantly more valid and
defensible assessment of training requirements (based on job analysis, rather than subjective perception of need or desirability) than with the
typical "needs assessment".
